History of New Milford

Pursuant to Section 7-148(5)(D) of the General Statues, State of Connecticut, a Town Historian shall be appointed in the Town of New Milford to promote knowledge, appreciation and dissemination of Town of New Milford history. Also, all requests concerning the Roger Sherman Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution may be forwarded to the Town Historian.

The Webmasters are delighted to announce the opening of the New Milford Historical Society's web page at http://www.nmhistorical.org . It is a beautiful site and it contains a wealth of information. Since the Society posted its own Historical Timelines , the New Milford Webmasters will not continue that same endeavor here and, instead, respectfully defer to the expertise of the Society.
